Travel Nurse Housing in Fairbanks: What to Look For

A checklist for Fairbanks contract housing

• Distance to your facility. We are about 2.5 miles from Fairbanks Memorial Hospital and about 3.1 miles from downtown.
• Winter parking. You want an off-street spot with an engine-block plug-in. Ours is free with every unit.
• Arrival on your schedule. Self check-in works for a late flight or a post-shift arrival.
• Monthly terms. Stays of 30+ nights should be billed monthly and, in Fairbanks, are exempt from the bed tax.
• Laundry and groceries close by, so days off are actually days off.

How a contract stay works with us

We offer nightly, weekly and monthly rates. Under Alaska's extended-stay rule, stays of 30 nights or more are exempt from the Fairbanks bed tax and are billed in monthly periods, so a standard 13-week assignment qualifies. Check-in is self-service from 4:00 PM. A door code for the main building arrives about 24 hours ahead, and your room opens with a physical key card, so there is no front desk to coordinate with after a red-eye.

Choosing a room

• Queen Room: one queen bed, sleeps 2, with a shared kitchenette (microwave, mini-fridge, coffee maker, basic cookware).
• Two Doubles: two double beds, sleeps up to 2 adults and 1 child, with the same shared kitchenette.
• 2-Bedroom Apartment: two queen beds, sleeps 4, with a private bath, a full kitchen and a living area. Good if two nurses want to share. It currently has a 30-night minimum for arrivals through April 30, 2027.

Day-to-day life on Rewak Drive

• Groceries: Safeway is across the street; Walmart and Fred Meyer are about 0.4 miles away.
• Laundry: coin-operated machines on site.
• WiFi: 2.5Gb-powered, plenty for streaming and video calls home.
• Quiet hours run 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM, and the property is strictly non-smoking.
• Pets are not allowed.
